Welcome to the webpage of the GRK 2905 (english: Research Training Group RTG 2905). Here you will find all information about upcoming events and latest news. It will be located in the globally unique interdisciplinary environment of the newly emerging research center RUN (Regensburg Center for Ultrafast Nanoscopy).
The RTG 2905 offers a variety of events during the semester, including colloquia, special lecture series, seminars, and workshops. Our mission is to connect students and researchers with the latest scientific developments in ultrafast nanoscopy. All colloquia and special lecture series take place during the semester on Fridays at 2:00 pm in the RUN Auditorium. Seminars also take place regularly. Rooms and times may vary, so please check the announcements for details.

  • A quantum leap in optical microscopy
A quantum leap in optical microscopy

Using a conventional tabletop mid-infrared laser, we observed optical signals modulated on Ångström length scales. These signatures stem from light emission from tunneling currents flowing between the most frontier atom of a metallic tip and a sample surface and are driven by the oscillating electric field of the laser light. This tunneling-mediated contrast emerges under relatively…

    Visual communication workshop

On May 21, our young researchers came together in a joint event with the CRC 1277 for a one-day Seyens method workshop on visual communication, led by Dr. Jernej Zupanc. Following preparatory online sessions, the in-person event focused on practical training to improve how we present our research. Through hands-on exercises using our own slides,…

RTG program launched & doctoral spokespersons elected

The new Graduate Research Training Group 2905 – ‘Ultrafast Nanoscopy: From Single Particle Dynamics to Cooperative Processes’ – has started in early April. This program provides graduate researchers with the opportunity to uncover the internal dynamics of the elementary building blocks of matter. Novel concepts of nanovideography will be pioneered to resolve atomic-scale dynamics and…
