Non-thermal engineering of solid-state systems via THz driven collective modes

In this talk, I will discuss how light-driven collective modes can reveal and dynamically shape the interplay between different microscopic degrees of freedom. Specifically, I will show how the dynamics of a resonantly driven phonon can reveal its anharmonic potential and how a similar scheme can be applied to quasi-2D materials to shape their magnetic ground state.
